I am not one to write reviews but I am in love with my Polaris F7. My kids have named him Oscar. He cleans everything. I was disappointed in my pool for a while for not having the brilliant sparkle of some other pools I would see. But now that Oscar is on patrol, the bool is brilliant. He cleans steps, walls, the floor and everything. In about an hour he can make a pass on my whole pool. Not a spec of dirt left. I am blown away. If you are on the edge about this, take my word for it, its perfect.

This pool cleaner works very well. It was recommended to me by a frient who purchased one several months ago. At a prior house, we had a very larger pool with a Polaris cleaner. ( It had it's own pump and cost considerably more than the Great White. ) The Great White cleans very well in the shallow and deep ends, and as indicated in the instructions, doesn't climb steps or areas over ladders. This requires 2 minutes of my time on weekends to brush off those areas.
Possibly the two requirements for vacuum pool cleaners is to have a good pump and to clean the pool filter periodically. Adjust the valves on the skimmers to insure sufficient suction to the pool cleaner (e.g., the valve to the cleaner is opened fully while the valve to the second skimmer is slightly closed. This presumes you do not have a separate suction line.)
Very simple to install and to maintain.

Does the job and after two summers has not yet worn out. Lasted longer than other suction cleaners have. Occassionaly takes a long time to back out of a corner.

I have had two haywards in the past. Thought I would try pentair KK. More obtrusive due to size, however covers much much more area in a lesser time. Cleans a much larger area in one pass. Makes a bit of a clicking noise, may bother some, I dont care. From a practical and cost standpoint, this unit cant be beat. Shipping from seller was great and quick. Wish all merchants were the same...

lj: Cleans well, saves time

• This is a nice product, although I am still trying to figure out how to keep it from getting stuck on the stairs. To be fair, I run it under the pool cover and it gets stuck more often then, but I still need to check it every day. The pool is balanced well yet the hoses are turning green on the inside due to algae growth. I haven't found a way to prevent that and hope it doesn't get worse. Once in a while a leaf will clog the mechanism, but you can hear when the click click clicking slows or stops. It normally sounds like an old Farmall tractor off in the distance-I didn't expect it to make any noise. The price is high for such a simple machine but I guess when you corner the market, you can charge what you want. Overall it is a good product and does save me time cleaning...

The Baracude G3 is a wonder of simplicity that works without a lot of high tech (except for the high level of engineering design). It vacuums the bottom and sides of the pool quite thoroughly using the suction from the pool pump with no onboard motor, computer or easy to wear out tech. I bought the extra diaphragm just in case the first one wears out and finally took the advice of another reviewer to buy the leaf filter, which is much easier to clean than the pump filter. So if you don't mind the lower price and the lack of computerized cleaning, this one is the way to go.

I was sceptical when I bought the yellow version beginning of this summer, now my only regret is not getting it 2 years ago, I have a 24 F above ground with a lot of wrinkles in the liner, it gets a lot leaves and debris from the many trees on my property but this little vacuum cleans it in 3-4 hours, it never gets stuck on wrinkles or ladder, didn't have to use the manual vacuum all summer, what a relief.
It seems most of the negative review are made by owners with Intex pools, for a regular "permanent" above ground pool you can't beat this vacuum. I only take out when using the pool, otherwise it stays in, simply connect the hose to the skimmer every other day, let the skimmer clean the surface one day and the vacuum clean the bottom one day for a crystal clear pool water.
Like any other vacuum, make sure you have a leaf strainer attached to your pump's intake.
For a 24 f pool use all the hose sections, if you have a smaller pool only use enough sections to allow the vacuum to reach the far end of your pool.
One complaint I have is the hose, one of the section connecters is not tight enough and sometimes comes when I fill the hose with water from the filter return.

I refuse to buy any product without first researching reviews. My dad has been talking about buying an automatic pool cleaner for months now. So when Father's Day was approaching I knew exactly what to get him. The reviews for this product were decent and for the price, it seemed like a nice gift for my dad. My dad has the cleanest pool on our block and can be found in his pool 3 times a week during the summer with the skimmer and pool vacuum. He called me after he received it and was so excited. He had already used it and told me it was extremely easy to put together and does a wonderful job cleaning his above ground pool. The funny "Diver Dave" character cracked him right up, as well. He likes it so much he has recommended it to my uncle who has also bought the same "Diver Dave".

I have had this for about 2 weeks now and am very happy. I live in an area with lots of wind and trees so lots of debris in the water this time of the year. Wanda has had no problem picking up the leaves and putts around our 18 foot round Intex pool just fine. I received plenty of hose and actually left out 3 sections for a perfect length. Hooking up the hose was somewhat of a challenge but I just took off the screen that screws in on the inside of the pool to the plunger and used a hole saw to drill through it. The hole was just slightly larger than necessary so I wrapped the end of the hose with duct tape and screwed in the cover. Definitely a redneck operation but I have learned that the duct tape will last a long time and it is the perfect compression washer. Doing this from the outside was fun; seeing that the water was about 40 degrees. I upgraded our filter this year and have 1.5 hp sand filter. Wanda really moves around on occasion. I have taken the ladder out of the pool so there is no problem with it. I bought it used through Amazon for $50 but it looked brand new. I don't believe it was ever used. Most likely a floor model? We have numerous wrinkles on the floor but she gets around them just fine. All the other reviews really helped me so take this for what it's worth. Happy in rainy WA.
