The Baracude G3 is a wonder of simplicity that works without a lot of high tech (except for the high level of engineering design). It vacuums the bottom and sides of the pool quite thoroughly using the suction from the pool pump with no onboard motor, computer or easy to wear out tech. I bought the extra diaphragm just in case the first one wears out and finally took the advice of another reviewer to buy the leaf filter, which is much easier to clean than the pump filter. So if you don't mind the lower price and the lack of computerized cleaning, this one is the way to go.
We have always used Kreepy Krauly for our homes, but we decided to try the Baracuda when our pool wasn't getting clean enough. We are SO happy with that decision and how clean our pool is now, especially my husband, who's the one who works on the pools.
