Delta: PoolSkim Pool Skimmer and Pool Cleaner: Excellent product

Imagine installing a fairly inexpensive product in your pool that does all the surface skimming for you. I have millions of bugs and debris that fall in the pool constantly. Even after vacumming and skimming the surface, bugs and debris continue to fall and it never stays clean. With the poolskim , as long as your pump is running, it is cleaning the surface and doing a fantastic job. I knew ahead it would take me awhile to figure out how to put it together, but 15 mins. was nothing to complain about really.

I bought this right after buying a new house that came with an in-ground the pool (15000 gal). I soon learned how time consuming pool maintenance is! Not to mention the pool is right under 3 big oak trees that have those grainy seed pods. This winter when the trees shed those pods vacuuming and skimming the pool was taking hours, so I decided an automatic pool cleaner and an automatic skimmer sounded pretty good. I hooked them both up and spent about 5 or hours fiddling with the positioning of this skimmer (on and off) getting it right.
For me, I turned off the pool skimmer, and put the flow diverters/minimizers in my two other returns, and it created the vortex like on the package. I will also add that i have spa that overflows into the pool, and the skimmer is right next to the waterfall, and it doesnt interfere with it at all. It still picks up all debris just fine. The directions don't help all that much, but with enough fiddling I figured it out on my own. The skimmer draws in everything from the top of the pool, I dont skim it at all anymore, I just empty the bag every couple days. It's like a miracle. It also doesn't interfere with the pool cleaner I bought either, between the two all I do now is test the water and add chemicals. Other then that, pure enjoyment!
Don't hesitate to buy this, but when you, just plan to spend a bit of time tinkering with it to get it installed and working right.
